Project “UPE-IP” is implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021–2026 and is financed by European Union funds through the NextGenerationEU instrument.
About the project
Energy companies today must increase efficiency through digital transformation and a more competitive management economy. This project analyzes Croatian companies in comparison with leading European and global energy corporations. This research is being conducted in collaboration with the Ruđer Bošković Institute (IRB), the Center for Computational Advanced Materials and Processes at University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), and GDi.
The project aims to develop sustainable energy systems through the application of advanced technologies, including digital twins, artificial intelligence (AI), predictive analytics, geographic information systems (GIS), the internet of things (IoT), and geospatial AI (GeoAI). The project focuses on the complete life cycle of infrastructure, from its initial planning to the eventual replacement with innovative solutions. This is accomplished by integrating the aforementioned advanced technologies into energy infrastructure, such as generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy systems, as well as related areas such as security management and smart systems.
By utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, the project ensures the practical application of the latest technological advancements across the energy sector. Thus, scientific knowledge is being advanced and shared with the boards of directors of leading international energy companies. Overall, the project’s outcomes will be presented at major energy conferences, striving to highlight innovations in digitization and sustainability.
